Description: A boy with white-golden blond hair. He has a stature and frame more expected of a flatchested girl his age, but he has very little traces of either body fat or muscle that is apparent. The effect of which makes him androgynous looking. He almost always wears golden or white colored clothes, and almost never wears dark colors, espically black or purple, seemingly almost phobic the entire matter. He has green eyes. His clothes, most noticeably his undershirt and pants, are neither tight nor baggy, but are functional. While wearing the Obelisk Blue Male Blazer, he seems much larger then his frame indicates, giving him a very imposing presence. However, he has fairly poor eyesight, often squinting even with his contact lenses. Up until he came to the Academia, he wore eyeglasses, which he has now replaced with the aforementioned lenses.
Personality: A deadpan and serious guy, speaking with a monotone voice, with a gender neutral vocabulary that makes it hard to figure out his gender. At the same time, this monotone manner of speaking gives him a strange charismatic aura that is dissonant to his physical state. Due to wearing glasses for most of his life, Jaian has a habit of trying to push up non-existant glasses. As well, he's a very ritualistic person, having to complete little ins and outs (Such as getting dressed or starting his classwork or eating), or else he begins to get very uncomfortable. He has severe depression blunted by multiple anti-depressants, resulting in numbed emotions, detachment and indifference towards others. Also, due to incidents in his childhood related to this depression, he has developed a love-hate relationship with death, fearing dying, but he finds his few emotional experiences and highs from hanging and strangulation.
As well, he finds pleasure in mythology, particularly studying about 'fallen gods', gods that have become wicked or demonic in other cultures due to societal differences and the flow of history. Due to his depression and indifference, he rarely interacts with others, finding very very little reason to deal with people longer than is nessecary.
History: A very quiet boy, he doesn't say much if anything about his past. His school records mentions a fairly standard grade average for a Japanese child, but nothing spectacular or outstanding. His father is a professor of mythology, his mother a stay at home wife. There are records of around 5 to 7 years old, Jaian suffered an accidental strangulation. Psychological tests confirmed severe depression, which he has been taking his entire life at the cost of numbing the rest of his mind and personality. However, there have been occasional repeat self hangings from Jaian, occurring in increased doses of his medication.
His picking up of Duel Monsters seems to have been encouraged by his father for studying mythology as well as improving on mathematics and what not. As to why he joined Duel Academia, his father approved on the grounds that the school would be an excellent
source of mythological and historical study, considering the origins of the game and the inspiration for multiple cards. However, very little else is known about the boy, outside of some very basic information and what not.
As to why he was named as such? His mother thought the name sounded cute.
